A Guide for Fashion Lovers
Fashion Revolution will host a global movement campaigning fairer, safer, cleaner fashion industry so, naturally, we decided to join the fun!
Fashion Revolution Week will take place April 24-30th and everyone is welcome to join. It provides A Guide for All Fashion Lovers that features eight different ways in which we can all choose the haulternative.
What is the haulternative? A better way of refreshing your wardrobe without buying new clothes!
I chose to cover the “Haulternative Hire” idea by incorporating some pieces from Rent the Runway. We’ve covered the breakdown of how Rent the Runway works, but as a refresher, it allows you to rent out designer pieces for a fraction of the retail price. Pretty awesome!
Haulternative Hire is catwalk looks for high street prices with a twist. “Super cheap designer clothes to loan and wear for any occasion. All you have to do is give them back.”
Now let’s look at some pieces!
This Teal Off Shoulder Top instantly caught my eye.
This shade of teal is beautiful no matter the season. The flowy sleeves are super comfortable and add some fun flare to the look! I paired it with our Black and White Key Scarf to create some contrast to the top.
Another stylish scarf combo would be our beautiful Cream Feather Scarf. This scarf has so many bright colors that make it perfect for a fun mix and match! The dress is also another great piece from Rent the Runway! It is the Trina Turk Orange Alcott Dress.
Unfortunately I did not get any better shots of the dress, but luckily Rent the Runway features client photos and reviews of each item so it makes it easier to picture yourself wearing the dress as well as getting to see plenty of different angles.
Traditionally the items have to be returned. But of course, you also get the option to purchase the items if you happen to fall in love with a certain piece, but where’s the fun in that?
I hope to have inspired some of you to join this weeks Fashion Revolution Week! You can find any and all info on their site linked above. And remember that choosing the haulternative doesn’t have to be a week-long trend. Make it a personal mission to shop sustainable and trade-free fashion. Have fun!
